| I got a phone call today from the YWAM base in Carlisle, England. It
sounds SO perfect. I feel totally overwhelmed. I'm still not 100% sure
it's where I want to go, but after talking to Richard Lowe (the base
leader), I'm pretty sure. It's GORGEOUSE, and it's only ten miles from
Scotland, and it has a castle and a cathedral, and some ancient Roman
wall thing, and a bunch of other stuff.
PLUS Richard said that it's even though it's a city (which in England
just means that there is a cathedral in it), it's small and has more of
a town feel. This is PERFECT because as you all know, my town only has
34,836 people in it, give or take.  (I cheated... looked it up
on the internet.) And Carlisle has like 100,000. So it's still a lot
bigger than here, but not so huge that I would be overwhelmed, like if
I were to live in New York City for six months.
Also, he said that they like to keep the DTS small, so that you learn
to really know each other, and you can't "hide" as he put it. You have
to be open and willing to bare yourself to others. And they
believe in gifts of the Holy Spirit, and are a Spirit led base. Which
is FANTASTIC because I would hate to feel stuffed up for six months.
So that's what I'm looking at for this fall. Carlisle, England... HERE I COME!
But for now, I have to do school.  Only one more semester and then I'm DONE WITH HIGHSCHOOL!
